Chapel

Campbell Memorial Chapel is home to some of Chatham’s most beloved traditions like Candlelight, a non-denominational service at Christmastime that brings Chatham students of past and present together.

Candlelight

Chatham’s annual Candlelight tradition is an evening of holiday magic, musical revelry, and rows and rows of sparkling candlelight.

Multi-Faith Council

Since Chatham is non-denominational, we have a multi-faith council, a group of religious leaders on campus from different churches, synagogues, mosques, and other religious institutions.

The Multi-Faith Council holds programming and services for students on campus and enjoys a monthly lunch with students in the dining hall.

A Community Space

The Chapel is also used for large presentations and events, including film screenings from the “Just Films” series, as a part of which we recently hosted Pulitzer-Prize winning author Alice Walker.

The Chapel also acts as a quiet and peaceful space for students to study, practice performing arts, or simply reflect.

Mr. Rogers' Commencement Speech at Chatham

The beloved children’s TV show host and Presbyterian minister Fred Rogers addressed the students of Chatham University, then Chatham College, during the 2002 Commencement program.
